Salon international 2017: bigger and better than ever before Salon International took to the ExCeL arena once again for three days jam-packed with all things hairdressing. Held from the 14th to the 16th of October, the show once again was a beacon of inspiration with hundreds of the top industry brands and hairdressing heavy-weights under the same roof. The three action-packed days had something for everyone; from newcomers to the industry to the seasoned pro. With amazing discounts and show exclusive products being a big crowd pleaser, Salon-goers were not disappointed this year, with over 400 brands exhibiting. Wella Professionals and sister brands Nioxin, OPI and ghd also took over a huge section of the exhibition hall to introduce the crowds to their new releases. A must-see on everyone’s Salon International visit was undoubtedly the British Hairdressing Awards gallery. Visitors were awed by the work of the finalists in the nine regional and six specialist categories, who truly represent the best of the British hairdressing industry. Headline sponsors Schwarzkopf Professional also drew crowds to the gallery area with their photo booth (complete with Beyoncé-style wind machine!) where visitors could take a turn as a HJ Cover star. Salon International 2017 Anne Veck All three days were a wealth of knowledge for people who were eager to learn about the latest techniques and trends and the live shows, held in the auditorium, were heavily attended each day. Trevor Sorbie, Patrick Cameron, TONI&GUY and Sassoon Academy presented the global launches of their latest hairdressing collections, with Mahogany presenting their seminars in a step by step format for optimal learning for the crowds. TONI&GUY lead image Ky Wilson for BaByliss PRO presented a Session to Salon Masterclass and took the audience along for a journey of creation through to photoshoot live on stage. Rush’s live show was in aid of a great cause, and took the audience on a creative hairdressing journey for the charity Great Ormond Street. The National Trichology Conference provided an in-depth look at where hairdressing stops and trichology begins. You can view our recaps for some of the Salon International highlights below.
