Toni&guy get fashion forward with futurewise at salon international

TONI&GUY presented an inspiration-packed show at their Salon Live presentation during Salon International.

The international, fashion-forward salon group provided something for everyone over the course of their show; from selfie-ready, salon friendly blow-dries to inspirational avant-garde from their award-winning team.

The show kicked off with a presentation of the latest Label.M collection; We Are Two. The collection celebrates relationships and was brought to life on stage with pairs of models. However it wasn't just about cute couples; the theme extended far beyond that. The idea of relationships was explored through the connection between clients and products, dual textures and the communication between one hairdresser and another in an education environment. A duo were also, of course, behind Label.M – founded by Toni Mascolo and daughter Sacha. Relationships are key to all aspects of hairdressing, so what better way to celebrate the power of two than with a couple-themed story? The collection was also of note thanks to the inclusion of models Alex and Maya; found through Label.M's global social media competition and now amongst the faces of the brand. TONI&GUY colour application   The show also featured the presentation of Futurewise; the latest TONI&GUY collection. The story features more than 30 looks, ranging from editorial cuts and colours to consumer-friendly, highly commercial looks. The overriding theme for all of the looks, however, was the work of Alessandro Michele; the groundbreaking designer at Gucci whose pattern-clash, accessory-overload, more-is-more, ugly-pretty aesthetic has transformed fashion – and inspired this collection. All of the cuts and colours in the collection were grounded with those ideas, but simplified with a triptych of techniques; interlocking angles, interlocking curves and interlocking teardrops. These concepts applied to cut and colour concepts, brought to life through hidden pockets of colour, eclectic lengths and textures and surprising shapes. Looks were all finished with accessories, piled high and curated with irreverence. Beyond being a Gucci reference, the quirky-cool hair accessories on display are also the latest edition to the Label.M collection – on sale soon. This year also sees TONI&GUY launch their Fashion Fix nationwide; a blow-dry and dry styling collection of ten looks, for salons who want a fresh look in a flash. Accessories are the perfect retail add-on, as well as giving clients a stylish extra flourish. TONI&GUY hair styling TONI&GUY have worked with London Fashion Week for more than ten years on both men's and ready-to-wear women's collections, and this special relationship was celebrated with a presentation of models from the most recent Mary Katranzou collection, which was styled by the team. Voluminous shapes, textured waves and sensational colour all brought to life the pattern-heavy collection of garments. The show closed with a trademark, totally spectacular avant-garde presentation. Inspired by fire, ice, water and air, the show included a snow machine, fire and wind, with the special effects only overshadowed by some spectacular, sculptural, statement avant-garde hair looks that left the crowd clamouring for more.
