This hair trend is coming back – just in time for party season When Hailey Baldwin stepped out on the Met Gala red carpet in May, her top to toe Alexander Wang look turned heads. Hailey's Barbie pink gown was sweet with a side of sass and the hair vibe was straight out of the sugar-coated sixties. While voluminous hair is a mainstay of the hair trend world to this day, the hair flip that sealed the style was straight from the sixties and since then we have seen the style trickle into Hollywood. The updo version is a hybrid of two popular styles that took hold in the 1960s; the high ponytail and the flipped bob, creating a preppy, girly style. Whilst the shoulder-length style gives off 1990s vibes, popularised by Amber from Clueless. https://www.instagram.com/p/B6CnAuUn5ZY/ "Taking inspiration from fashion houses around the world, looking into the past with their latest collections, stylists have brought this trend back to life, adding simple hair accessories such as hair bands and scrunchies to create a point of difference," says Tina Farey, editorial director at Rush Hair. "The look is very subtle but the addition of the flick at the ends adds more of a statement."

Here are Tina's tips to recreating the hair flip trend

1. Shampoo and condition the hair using a professional moisturising duo. 2. Dry the hair to 70% using a large paddle brush, to flatten the cuticle and encourage shine. 3. Next take a large barrel brush and dry the ends of the hair, turning the brush towards you, creating a beautiful ‘flick’ style. 4. Gather the hair into a high ponytail, securing at the crown with a band. 5. The hair should lie perfectly, in a flip out style! 6. Finish with a hair accessory and high shine finishing spray. https://www.instagram.com/p/B2NZBCFji-H/
