Celebrating the rush oscars – all the action from the night

The Rush Hair team kicked of the new year with accolades and celebrations at their annual award ceremony. Stunning Freemasons Hall in central London played host to the Rush family of salons, which at the end of last year grew to an impressive 100 locations. CEO and co-founders, Andy Phouli and Stell Andrew took to the stage to give an inspirational welcome speech, which was met by huge applause from the audience. As the song 'we will rock you' swelled Stell repeated the company's motto, "We fly like geese and fight like Spartans!" Much to the enjoyment of the crowd. They emphasised the importance of the four pillars; quality, people, revenue and efficiency, with Andy stating, "Hairdressers don't need to be poor, I want our hairdressers to be rich, I want our hairdressers to be successful." Attendees also got to see the amount of money Rush has raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital through their Rush Live show, which takes place annually in October. This year was again no exception and the sum raised at the October show was a staggering £14,190 bringing the overall total raised over nine years to £149,190.00. It was then time to move on to the announcement of the Rush Oscars 2018 winners hosted by international creative director Andy Heasman and colour director Chris Williams, with excitement building around the theatre as the finalists and then winners were announced.
