Everything you need to know about the new ghd helios hairdryer Kicking off 2020 with a bang, ghd have launched Helios, their brand new professional hairdryer. Designed and created at their Cambridge Research and Design Lab, Helios is coming for your wallet, and with its sleek and powerful design, you're going to find it hard to resist updating your kitbag with their latest tool. "The ghd helios hairdryer gives you the perfect flow of air when drying to create a natural fullness, stunning shine and smoothness like no other," says UK brand ambassador Zoe Irwin.

What are the key benefits of the ghd Helios compared to other dryers?

It's lighter, for easiest transportation in your kitbag and move-ability when styling and faster for ultra-powerful drying and ultimate styling control. Aeroprecis technology combines internal aerodynamic design with a bespoke contoured nozzle - this gives a concentrated temperature and airflow distribution, allowing you precise control - especially when teamed with the diffuser (accessories launching in April 2020). When combined style disruption is minimum, essential when drying curls.

How is the ghd Helios different to the ghd Air?

The motor in air is a 2100W AC motor which gives a powerful blow-dry; for Helios this is improved even further by a brushless 2200W DC motor, which will be longer-lasting and is also quieter during use. Air uses advanced ionic technology to minimise static and frizz; with helios ghd have the brand new Aeroprecis technology which is the combination of internal aerodynamics and a contoured nozzle, to ensure a high-speed and super-concentrated airflow for the optimal finish – with 3x more hair alignment and 30% more shine. The speed of drying has improved 10% with Helios vs. Air – and air was already a very fast and powerful dryer so this is no mean feat. Helios is also lighter and more ergonomically balanced than air, for a comfortable styling experience! “I love working with the ghd helios," says ghd brand warrior Tilly Penn. "The new ergonomic design and light weight means that blow-drying and styling on set or in salon has never been more natural and comfortable.”
