The independent, non-political organisation focuses on promoting artistic and creative quality within the industry. It provides support for future hairdressing talent by organising ongoing education workshops and seminars.

1. Project X joined Kai Wan to style hair for the Phase Eight fashion show in London

education courses fellowshipPhillippa Lee, Janene Bush and Emma Male, team members of Project X, joined team leader Kai for the Phase Eight fashion presentation. Based at 8 Northumberland Avenue, the hairdressers created ten model looks. The model look for the show was a low ponytail with sleek sides, height and texture on the top and two stacked rope braids at the base. The students commented on how many valuable styling skills they have learned from this experience. Phillippa said she learned a trick on how to prep the hair so it holds the style for longer. Wheres Emma remembered to keep scaffolding pins and grips in until the last minute. Emma also added: “I have worked on a hair catwalk event many years ago, but I’ve never done a whole model look for my show. Learning how to work as a team to bring the looks together was brilliant, and it was also great to learn how to do the rope twist style.”

2. The Colour Project learnt all things balayage from Jack Howard

It was a great day and what we learnt was so perfect for taking back to the salon and using daily.”
