The f.a.m.e and project x teams start the year with the help of some experts The Fellowship for British Hairdressing's F.A.M.E and Project X teams have both kicked off with their first sessions. The F.A.M.E team is the ultimate finishing school for emerging talent and has launched careers of many household names. Project X is open to all hairdressers allowing them to continue developing skills in hairdressing, media profiling and stage work. This year, the F.A.M.E team have begun with a session led by icon Nick Irwin. Alistair Jubbs, Lora Griffin, Ashley Cockrell and Tania Faenza, met in Brixton, South London and found out more about what's ahead of them whilst learning about their mentor Nick and one another.  After this they had the opportunity to work with D&A Films capturing the essence of the team as well as what excites them about hair and finished off the day hearing from Nick about his career, creative process and what keeps him inspired. Lora from Simon Webster Hair said: "Hearing how Nick works was the highlight of the day, hearing about his creative process and what makes him tick was really inspiring". Reflecting on the day she said: "I learnt about how important the process and research is when creating new looks, collections and editorials. I'm looking forward to putting this into practice and exploring new areas of the industry". Her enthusiasm was echoed by Ashley from Percy & Reed. He said: "I  was constantly tapping my foot in anticipation and excitement for most of the day! I can't wait for the life-changing experiences that we're going to undertake over the next 12 months". The Project X team started off the year with team leader Kai Wan and Edward Hemmings, a presentation expert. After an overview of what to expect from their year the team had the opportunity to perfect their presentation skills. Tasked with presenting to their peers about an object they had chosen, each member followed Edward's advice and guidance before presenting again at the end of the day improving off feedback they were given. Phillippa Lee from Yaxley Hair & Beauty, a current team member said: "It was pretty scary but great to learn and gain points to improve on, by the end of the day it was lovely to see that everyone had grown in confidence". Dani Ball from Headquaters also felt the benefits of the session saying "I walked away feeling confident, excited and inspired by the team. This confidence and the skills gained from these activities with benefit the members greatly over the next year as they present on stages across the country.
