Don't forget these five things before reopening your salon In England, as we edge closer to the reopening of hair salons and barbershops, there are a lot of things you will need to remember before welcoming your customers back in. While PPE, hand sanitiser and social distancing is forefront in your mind, there are other things not to forget about that will make reopening your salon run smoothly. "We’ve all spent so much time and energy ensuring we have screens and partitions in place, PPE has been purchased and the team are all up to date on training that it is easy to forget about the small things that can really make a difference to your new working day," says Marcello Moccia owner of Room 97. "This is new to all of us and we are learning as we go along so it’s not the end of the world if something is missing or doesn’t go to plan. Clients are happy to come back to see you so don’t get stressed over small details." https://www.instagram.com/p/CBxdPtdAl55/

Five Things to thing about before reopening your salon

1 - Open the salon in the days leading up to reopening for your team to get their hair cut and coloured – they need to be looking on trend before clients come through the door. 2 Ensure you have at least two pairs of everything – combs, brushes, scissors – so that tools can be sanitiser between clients and you don’t run out of anything you need. 3 Make sure all stylists talk to every client before they come into the salon. It may be the receptionist that books them in, but a phone call will break the ice and ensure stylists have an idea of client’s requests, and every client feels reassured before coming into the salon. 4 Make sure clients don’t feel bad about colouring their hair at home – whatever state it is in! Be ready for some hair disasters, but don’t let the client know just how bad it is! 5 Sort through your wardrobe and get your work wear ready. You will probably want to travel in different shoes than you are wearing in the salon to avoid cross contamination, especially if you are travelling on public transport.
