Who had the best hair at the brit awards 2021? The Brit Awards 2021 is making headlines beyond the usual who won which award with Dua Lipa making a plea to Boris Johnson on stage and the Little Mix ladies giving a shout out to all of the amazing women in the music industry while showing off their multiple bumps, but who had the best hair of the night? Ryan Steedman at Adam Reed, London points out the 'no trend rule' was in full swing at the Brit Awards 2021 with singers showing off their individuality and following their own rules. HJ has asked a selection of hairdressers to share their best celebrity hair looks from the Brit Awards 2021.

The best hair looks from the Brit Awards 2021

Dua Lipa's Amy Winehouse-inspired beehive

https://www.instagram.com/p/COvZh_rnNSW/ Jay Birmingham said: "Dua Lipa looked insane as usual at the 2021 Brit Awards and completely stole the show. Her hair was totally different to her signature blunt bob style and it suited her look perfectly. Twisted up into a towering beehive her hair had plenty of volume and pushed boundaries that’s for sure. Leaving the two pieces of hair out to frame her face gave this style the contemporary twist it needed. This isn’t a style that everyone could pull off or that would work for any occasion but red carpet was perfect for it. To create this look preparation is key. You need the hair to be manageable and able to be manipulated into shape. Apply your favourite texturising spray before twisting into place and then use your fingers to tease the hair to give that beehive feel. Finish by adding a slight bend in the two pieces of hair left down to complete that soft feminine look." Paul Falltrick, gfc Hairdressing said:
I love this up do on Dua Lipa, which is giving off major Amy Winehouse vibes. Her hair is gorgeous and glossy and the style is classy and timeless, framing her face perfectly whilst showing off her statement jewellery and dress neckline. Perfect!
While Tim Scott-Wright from @The Hair Surgery said:
Dua Lipa’s Georgian style and modern take on the TV series Bridgerton and Harlots stole the night for me. It was so effortlessly cool, yet made a statement. I loved it!
Another vote for Dua Lipa came from Vivienne Johns from the HAIRDOTCOM Art Team who asked:
“Her signature sleek look was completely thrown out the window could this be th the return of the bouffant?!”
And Indola’s Global Ambassador Paddy McDougal was in agreement too. He said:
The face framing pieces really gave it a modern day edge. For me it worked perfectly with her custom Vivienne Westwood dress, and the whole look combined with her newly darkened locks courtesy of Nicola Clarke, put me in mind of the late Amy Winehouse.

Little Mix glowed with laid-back chic hair

https://www.instagram.com/p/COv1oJ5HLfp/ James Alfie Parr, session stylist said: "I loved the simplicity of it all and their hair complimented that beautifully. Super long waves like Perrie wore are really wearable and commercial for clients on the high street at the moment. Looks like this are highly requested and really on trend at the moment. Leigh Anne and Jade showcased stunning yet simplistic braids that worked so well with their outfits. Melissa Timperley,  owner at Melissa Timperley Salons loved Perrie's hair best. She said:
"Perrie’s look is effortlessly beautiful! Her waist length hair has been waved in small sections and then gently combed out to create textured beachy waves. Two tiny undone braids have been added to frame her face, which gives the overall look a real boho feel. Extensions may have been used to add length to Perrie’s hair. To recreate this style, first prep the hair with a heat protect spray, such as ghd’s Bodyguard then use a wand to gently wave the hair in sections - my favourite is the ghd creative curl wand. Remember the waves don’t have to be perfect – the more imperfect the better! Once all the hair has been waved gently comb it out and then add texturizing spray for extra hold and grit."
While, Rianna Henry and Vicky Demetriou at Larry King took a shine to Leanne's hair. Rianna said:
This braided updo pony is just perfection, the baby hairs are on fleek!  Omg!! My fave hairstyle of the night definitely recreating it for my baby shower in August.

Joel Corry's classic yet 'bang on' short cut and sides style

https://www.instagram.com/p/COvfqv7Hnow/ Jonathan Fisher, Palmer Fisher London said: “I love Joel’s dark hair, against his dark suit at the Brits last night. A classic short, back & sides never goes a miss, especially when styled with height through the top to enhance his haircut. Smart and classic - bang on!”

Mabel's nod to 1990s grunge

https://www.instagram.com/p/COvg1FsnuUL/ Nikita Fisher, Palmer Fisher London said: “Mabel’s red carpet look is bold yet striking, bringing back 90s vibes with the deep chestnut red & golden blonde hair colours that contrast each other beautifully as well as complimenting her dress. I love her hair styled in this curly up do, too! It all works so well together and it screams, sexy, confident and completely on trend.”

Olivia Rodrigo's beachy waves

https://www.instagram.com/p/COvbXMnHnUj/ Callum Standen-May, co-founder of Standenmay Salon and stylist at Bond Shoreditch said: "Olivia’s look at this year's Brit Awards was definitely one of the stars of the show. She complimented her incredible neon green dress by wearing her glossy brunette locks in laidback, relaxed beachy waves. Olivia also changed up her look for her performance on the Brits, wearing her hair a lot softer and more natural. It appeared her hair had been brushed out and paired with a lot more volume."

Griff's futuristic bubble ponytail

https://www.instagram.com/p/COv2223H9cJ/ Suzie McGill, Rainbow Room International's Uddingston Salon said: "Griff sported some unique and futuristic inspired looks at this year's Brit Awards and her bubble ponytail in particular was one of the most stand out looks of the night. Her hair was slicked back off her face with the ponytail worn super long in length that may have been created with the help of some hair extensions, and with extreme volume. It was finished with some beautiful embellished jewels and a long crystal piece that was threaded through the length off the ponytail to give the look further glamour. A similar look can be easily created on clients by creating a ponytail and using elastics in even sections down the length of the ponytail. Hair can then be pulled out to create a bubble-like effect. This is a hairstyle that is definitely becoming more on trend and a huge hit with celebrities this year." Kerry Mather, owner of KJM Salons in Fleet added:
I absolutely love British singer Griff’s jewel encrusted bubble braid – it’s so cool and effortless. It’s a really versatile look - it can be dressed slick or pulled out, worked with hair pieces and accessories – it’s so on-trend, young and cool!

Maya Jama's sleek and chic look

https://www.instagram.com/p/COvb7eDFnDM/ Paul Finnell, creative director at F&M Hairdressing said: "Maya Jama was her usual glamorous self at this year’s Brit Awards, going for a sleek and simple hair look to compliment her bespoke AREA outfit and BVALGARI jewels. Maya’s hair was styled into a very sleek look, with a high shine to match the shine of her embellished dress. A sleek and simple style is so powerful and gives off a vibe of strength. To recreate this look, hair should be blowdry as straight as possible, using a large paddle brush to encourage straightness and high shine. Straighteners can be used following this to add a straighter finish."
Creative director of Inanch London, Inanch Emir added:
Maya Jama looked sensational at last night's Brits. Wearing 50cm of beautiful natural curl Gold Class extensions, Maya kept her hair simple with an elegant straight blowdry allowing the silver chain black mini dress and dazzling Bulgari diamond necklace to take centre stage. Dripping in jewels from head to toe. Literally.

Taylor Swift's perfectly preened dusty blonde

https://www.instagram.com/p/COvn9biD4Bl/ Gill Berry, Joyce European Design Team Member said: "Taylor once again was her classic self at the 2021 Brit Awards, with her perfectly preened blonde hair and full fringe.  Her beautiful dusty blonde hair was loosely waved to created a relaxed, boho look which partnered with her thick, full fringe worked as the perfect partnership. Taylor’s hair looked extremely healthy and luxurious, and the same can be achieved when treating clients with the JOICO Defy Damage range, which aims to protect, nourish and transform the hair. To recreate Taylor’s hair, tong the hair with a medium sized barrel tong and loosely brush out when cool. Finish with JOICO Blonde Life brightening oil to infuse the colour and add a beautiful shine."

Questionable cut from Harry Styles

https://www.instagram.com/p/COxKwnWrkt2/ Karoliina Saunders, owner at Karoliina Saunders London wasn't a big fan of Harry Styles look. She said:
Harry Styles had his hair cut shorter from the  back and sides so he no longer has an over grown look... I'm not sure if I liked it or not?!
