Riding the summer wave: the biggest wavy hairstyle trends
Summer is just around and the corner which means clients are looking towards easy, relaxed hair styles that suit beach days and warm evenings. Let's take a look at the celebrities who are embracing the wavy hairstyle trend in all its forms.

Scandi Waves

Scandi is the buzz-wave of the summer right now - think Sophie Turner at the MET Gala. This hairstyle takes the beach look from effortless to effortlessly chic. If you're wondering what makes this wavy hairstyle trend stand out from the rest it's the structure, as the waves sit closer together in a tight 'S' shape for that statement look. Soft Wavy Bob

The bob is a classic that never goes out of style, and although traditionally we're used to seeing the sleek, straight bob let's not forget the power of the textured, soft wavy bob. This modern take on the classic hairstyle is low maintenance and perfect for the summer, and now that Megan Thee Stallion has debuted her own soft wavy bob it looks like we'll be seeing more of this in the coming months.
Barry Maddocks, UK creative director, Haringtons says: "To create the perfect soft wave I would always prep the hair with L’Oréal Techni art Pli this is an amazing Thermo-modelling spray that will help you get this super sexy 90s wavy hair, then using a medium sized ceramic radial brush by Kent Brushes to get that extra lift in the root area, once all dried I would simply spray in my all time favourite product by L’Oréal Professionnel Techni art Savage Panache - this is a power spray that gives you outrageous texture, using the palms of my hairs to give that absolutely stunning finish that I am so here for!"

The Half Wave

The laidback half wave is chilled glam at its best, as seen on A-list BFFs Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner. It's a textured style with a straighter root cascading into a loose wave towards the ends. This undone look is more reminiscent of losing your curls at the end of a long day but if it's good enough for the red carpet it's good enough for us. Mermaid Waves

Mermaid waves have been around for a while now but they're still going strong, thanks in large part to the Kardashian sisters, namely Khloe, who can't get enough of this easy-breezy look. Mermaid waves are a bigger, bouncier variation of the beach look and their popularity doesn't seem to be waver-ing anytime soon.
Jack Kilpatrick, salon director of JKP Hairspa says: "The best thing about wavy hair trends is that they can be worn all year round but especially in summer they are so versatile because there are so many different styles. My main tip would be is to make sure you prep the hair correctly. You must use enough product to ensure you hold the wave as trying to use lots of hair spray or sea salt spray afterwards just won’t simply hold the wave. It’s all about the prep."
