ID Artists is a highly sought-after education opportunity for talented, inspired hairdressers with an eye for fashion and unique creative expression.

Led by some of the industry's biggest names such as Trevor Sorbie, Simon Shaw and Rudi Lewis, students are coached in the latest catwalk looks, cut and colour techniques, product innovation and the latest L'Oréal Professionnel seasonal trends.

Who are the id.artists?

A team of 42 stylists from a variety of salons throughout the UK and Ireland.

Can anyone become an id.artist?

Yes, and there is no age limit. Demand has become so strong that national auditions are held throughout the UK and Ireland in early January. The dates and venue will be advertised later this year.

What is their role?

Their main role is to present catwalk shows that preview L'Oréal Professionnel's latest colour collections and trends. However, they also act as L'Oréal Professionnel and tecni.art ambassadors.

What can you gain by becoming an id.artist?

You will be educated to be at the cutting edge of our industry. You'll know what's happening in the world of fashion months ahead, and will be well placed to give a strong insight into must-have haircuts for the season ahead.

Is it just an initiative for UK hairdressers?

It is run by and for the UK and Ireland, but is currently being rolled out to Australia as well. Other European countries have id.artists, but these programmes are run in a different way.

Where can you see the id.artists perform?

L'Oréal Professionnel runs two UK and Republic of Ireland seasonal tours called Catwalk Showcases that preview L'Oréal Professionnel's seasonal Colour Collections. There are 16 dates, each performing to audiences of around 150-200 hairdressers.
