Aimed at salon owners and managers, the four enlightening business seminars see some of the hair industry's business gurus share their secrets for boosting salon profits.

Career profile: Jon joined Paterson SA in 1988, working on clients throughout the day and business strategy every evening. During this time founder George Paterson and Jon built the foundations on which Paterson SA has grown and since developed to become a five-salon group. Jon has been named Business Director of the Year twice, at HJ's British Hairdressing Business Awards.

Business philosophy: Jon's ambition is to nurture individuals and develop their talent, to build a great team that allows the business to expand. His greatest pleasure is seeing other people succeed and achieve their goals and he's a tremendous motivator.

Having sold his training and product company in 1999, Peter now concentrates fully on his passion as a business coach, helping others to achieve their goals through inspirational programmes and presentations.

Now he's the owner of six salons across London and Surrey, including one in the capital's Canary Wharf, plus a fully-accredited, government-funded training academy. He's also managing director of salon management software business Rage International.

Business philosophy: Art meets business.

Career profile: Alan is the founder and president of the Fant astic Hairdresser Group. As a business consultant, motivator and author of three books - The Fantastic Hairdresser, The Fantastic Boss and his newest book The Fantastic Salon - Alan is recognised as one of the most influential people in the salon industry, and has worked closely with leading international companies.

Business philosophy: Alan believes that 50% of what makes a fantastic hairdresser or salon is about communication, motivation, confidence and business skills. "We must never lose the passion for who we are and what this industry is really all about - making people look and feel fantastic," he says.
