Take on the salon challenge for great ormond street hospital   Community_Salon_Challenge_advert_HR This October, salons from across the UK are being invited to get out their scissors and curling irons and take part in the Salon Challenge to raise vital funds to help Great Ormond Street Hospital and give some of the UK’s sickest children the best chance for life. Salons that sign up can do any number of activities throughout October to raise money, from giving hairstyling lessons to hosting a wacky hair day. Once registered, salons will receive a tool kit with handy tips and tricks to make the month of fundraising a cut above the rest. The Salon Challenge launched last year as part of the HAIRraising appeal, which brings together members of the hairdressing community in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Founded by John Frieda in 2010, the appeal has already raised an impressive £1.8 million and now aims to raise even more money for Great Ormond Street Hospital’s respiratory centre, making a real difference to patients from across the UK. The new respiratory centre will be housed inside the new Premier Inn Clinical Building, the second part of the Mittal Children’s Medical Centre, which is due to open in 2017 and will look after some of the most critically ill patients, from babies to teenagers. Hayley Richardson, Fundraising Manager at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity said: “We’re excited about this year’s Salon Challenge and we hope that even more salons across the country will get behind it and support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. It’s a fantastic way for the hairdressing community to come together and raise funds for a great cause and promises to be the highlight of any Salon’s diary.” For more information on the HAIRraising appeal and for fundraising ideas, please visit www.gosh.org/hairraising or email [email protected] Widget_HJ
