Rate the sex and the city girls' style

Four long years after Carrie and co. said farewell to the small screen the Sex and the City girls and their iconic styles are back creating a storm ahead of their eagerly awaited movie.

But have the girls still got what it takes in the style stakes or will the film create a stir in the hairdressing world for all the wrong reasons?

Here's what Royston Blythe and Nick Malenko have to stay about the foursome's distinctive styles:

Kristin Davis

"This is a great look for hair that is naturally straight. Poker straight hair has had its day so to update the look, add loads of volume at the crown and keep a little more movement at the ends of the hair. Apply a serum to the hair and blow-dry with a large, round brush and then set on large Velcro rollers for maximum volume. Brush through and finish with texture spray."

Sarah Jessica Parker

"This season is all about sexy, volumised, modern hair and as always SJP nails it! She screams effortless glamour. To achieve the look, use a volume mousse and blow-dry with a large, round bristle brush to give the hair a smooth finish. Section the hair, use a heat defence styling spray and create movement using large tongs. Once the hair has cooled, run your fingers through to separate and soften the curls. Finish with a gloss spray."

Cynthia Nixon

"Bobs are timeless, however they have been done to death! The colour is amazing, however, if you like your bob, go more daring on the colour like Cynthia. This graduated bob is best achieved with a volume mousse, to protect the colour and add body and lift. Blow-dry with a flat brush to achieve a smooth look and finish with a gloss spray or shine serum."

Royston

Kim Cattrall

"Fringes are back in fashion in a huge way. Kim's sexy, eye-skimming fringe looks fabulous. To achieve her look blow-dry with a volumising product and then set on large heated rollers to add volume and soft curls. Brush through, retaining a small amount of curl at the ends. Finish with hairspray for instant hold."
