Michelle williams sports new crop in cannes
Michelle Williams joined the glitterati in Cannes this weekend to promote her latest film Blue Valentine, showing off a stylish new blonde crop.
Michelle worked the red carpet in a cute and quirky astro print dress, typical of her trademark indie girl chic.
We're used to seeing Michelle with a shaggy mid-length but she already seems to have mastered the art of styling her shorter cut, wearing it matte and textured by day and sleek and straight for her evening red carpet appearance.
Glen Rowland of Paul Falltrick Hairdressing says, "Michelle's 'do is bang on trend with plenty of texture on the top allowing the whole look to blend together and fuse into a style that is feminine, sexy and edgy all in one!"
The Dawson's Creek actress has also opted for a brighter shade of blonde, ditching her usual honey hue. Glen explains, "Michelle's blonde crop complements her skintone perfectly.
By using creamy blondes, which are softer than platinum whites, she keeps warmth in her complexion leaving it looking luminous.
The short style with longer top-lengths gives great versatility and the combination of creamy tones at different levels has given a natural multi-tonal effect rather than a flat one-tone colour and looks fabulous with the disconnected style really enhancing the cut."
Michelle isn't the only actress sporting a shorter look for summer - BAFTA winning actress Carey Mulligan and Alice in Wonderland star Mia Wasikowska have both opted for stylish pixie cuts in recent months.
