Jamie stevens on men's colour

jamie_stevensPIC.jpgI was lucky enough to have the very talented Jamie Stevens - resident hairdresser on How to Look Good Naked and artistic director at the Errol Douglas salon - cut my hair last week. I noticed that his client before me was having a colour applied and I asked Jamie how popular colour is with his male clients.

"I do a lot of gent's colour," said Jamie, "Although I tend to steer my older clients who are going grey to be natural and sport the George Clooney look. With guys who want to be bold, the full head bleach blonde is very popular/. I always try to push having an ash tone to give it a more silver feel, which looks cleaner and more on trend.

"We offer a colour service to all our female clients, so why not gents - they are in the chair for exactly the same reason, to look and feel great."

Jamie is one of many top colourists, stylists and salon owners commenting on men's hairdressing in HJ Men out on 26 March 2010.
