Girls was one of the most talked-about TV shows of 2012 and this week it's back for a second season.

The stars of the show took took the red carpet in New York for the eagerly-anticipated season two premiere and, between them, ticked off most of the new season hair trends.

Zosia Marnet otpted for a textured high bun, worn right on top of the head. The top knot is one street style-inspired trend which refuses to die and this mussed-up version is a perfect cool-girl red carpet option, particularly when paired with that frilled neckline.

The show's creator and star, Lena Dunham, styled her crop with a hint of shine and plenty of texture for a look that's cool, true to her style and a cute match for her strapless jumpsuit.

Jemima Kurke opted for the most obviously glam look of the night, with her long blonde locks styled in bed-head waves. Masses of shine and a side-parted, swept-over finish add to the sultry appeal of this style.

Representing the slicked-down look, Allison Williams opted for a strict side-parting and severe sleek, straight feel. With a beaming smile and art deco-inspired embellished gown, this is the perfect blend of boy-girl styling.
