The 80s was a decade of experimentation, excitement and innovation. It was a decade when style icons such as Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and Madonna, created a whole new look that was copied by millions worldwide.
Now, in the late 00s, as recession once again makes its mark on style, fashionistas are taking inspiration from that decade of innovation once again.
Big hair, quiffs and bleached blonde hair were de rigeur 20 years ago and today those looks are popular again. But who is wearing the 80s re-vamp and how have they given the original look a noughties twist?

Great hairdressing is all about 'A-B-C' (art, business and culture): that was the key message on this year's Paul Mitchell Colour Tour.
It was also the recipe for great hairdressing education, as Paul Mitchell Artistic Directors Scott Cole and Linda Yodice, who had flown into from the States to inspire and educate, proved to the Paul Mitchell crowd.

This is going to be a very busy weekend for me, with 10 Years Younger Live at Earls Court, London.
I've just done the official opening with Mylene Klass and the team, now it's over to three days of live presentations.
We'll be bringing the TV show to life with makeovers, including cutting, colour, make-up and styling.
I think there will be a lot of hairdressers at the show, because there are so many exhibitors here that will be of interest to professionals, and so much going on that is hair-related.
I'm very excited, I think it's going to be brilliant.
I've also been busy over the past few days with the launch of my new electrical product range.
I had two days of one-to-one interviews with members of the press. I saw around 50 journalists and had to say the same things again and again without sounding like I'd said it all before!
On Sunday evening, my partner and I will leave for Ibiza where we are going to get married with around 70 guests. It should be a great celebration and I will make sure my Blackberry is out of reach for at least the first week of married life!

But the model, who helped Kate make the regional finals of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy, was none other than Pixie Lott whose debut single, Mama Do, shot to number one. Said Kate: "I'm always on the look-out for good models, and Pixie really stood out - I could see she was a star in the making."When Uppercut style director, Kate Miasik, asked one of her clients to model for a photo shoot, she had no idea the 18-year-old would go on to storm the pop charts.

When a hair show starts with a rock band and ends with a stunning rendition of Nessun Dorma, a broad spectrum of looks have to be covered - and TIGI's European Release did exactly that.
Showcasing everything from festival-inspired hair to high couture looks from the catwalk - with a cheeky reference to TIGI's new owner Unilever thrown in for good measure - this show, held at Rome's Marriott Park Hotel, was pure hairdressing theatre.
