Matrix Destination.Fame 2009

desfame.jpgThe competition that breaks all the rules by having barely any rules is Matrix Destination.Fame.

Now in its second year, Matrix Destination.Fame is open to every hairdresser in the UK and Ireland, meaning that everyone is in with a chance of success.

  • Entering is simple, by post or email.
  • No glossy shoot.
  • No glossy model.
  • No rules (well just a few details to get you started).
  • Just great hair and your professional passion

The Brief

Create a male or female look using Matrix Colour that is on trend for 2009/10. The look should be accessible with a strong emphasis on displaying your very own positive energy and daring attitude.

Take a 'head shot' and 'lifestyle' picture of your model and chosen look. You can use digital or film cameras and they can be posted or emailed in.

  • Complete the entry form on the back of the brochure or go to the Matrix website for a form.
  • Attach your images to your entry form and send to Matrix, 255 Hammersmith Road, London W6 8AZ
  • 12 finalists will be chosen by an expert panel of judges
    Finalists' day at the International Academy, London
    The Shoot - mentored by the best names in the industry to produce the Matrix Calendar for 2010.

THE PRIZE - 12 MONTHS OF FAME

As one of the three Grand Prize winners you will enjoy

  • 12 months of fame to showcase your talent through your own hair calendar shoot mentored by top Matrix Artists (in 2008, Errol Douglas, Paul Falltrick, Hooker & Young)
  •  Artistic opportunities at Matrix events and media coverage.
  •  A once-in-lifetime mentoring opportunity with one of the UK's best hairdressers and benefit from professional coaching on how best to PR and Market your winning talents. 

 

 The Prizes

  • As one of the three Grand Prize winners, you will enjoy 12 months of fame to showcase matrix1.jpgyour talent through your own calendar shoot, Matrix and media coverage.
  • You will have the opportunity to work with and be menwwtored by the very best in the industry on a 2 day photo shoot with a professional photographer, make up artist, clothes stylist and models.
  • Working with your mentor you will create the Matrix Calendar 2010 showcasing your skill and creative flair.
  • The Matrix marketing team will help you shoult about y our win by sedigning and printing two AO window posters, five A3 and ten A4 in salon posters.
  • You will be given expert advice on how to best PR your win in local media.
  • You will be invited to join and assist members of the Matrix Artistic team on the Matrix Live tour 2010.
  • There will be an opportunity to attend an international event.

 

The Basics

Only one entry per person but there are no limits on entrants per salon. The prize is awarded to the winning team member not the salon. Photos can be any size but should be recent and cannot be returned. Matrix products only may be used on models. This will be checked by Matrix Education Team on the day of the grand final.
Models must have been skin allergy tested prior to colour application. The judges' decision is final. Neither Matrix or the judges will discuss results. All entries must be received by 29 May 2009.

Matrix Destination.Fame 2008

The winners of the 2008 competition experienced an exciting year of fame and fabulous events. Matrix is now looking for a new group of winners to take over the title.

Last year's winners were delighted with the time that they'd spent experiencing 'fame'. "Matrix are such a great family and working with such icons in the industry as Gary Hooker and Michael Young is something I will never forget," said Gill Berry from HUG8.

Charlotte Brookes from Yazz No1 Hair Studio gave some insight into being a winner. "I was so nervous when I attended the Finalists day in London so to have won Destination Fame was a fantastic feeling," she said.
