American women have spoken and they say that Posh Spice and her LA pals Eva Longoria and Katie Holmes have the best hair in celebville.
The threesome came out on top of the 15th annual Sally Beauty Best Tressed Survey, which asked women to cast a vote on the good, the bad and the ugly in celebrity hairstyles from the past year.
While the LA stars shone, the survey, commissioned by Sally Beauty Supply, found that Amy Winehouse was the hair horror of the year. The songstress was joined on the worst celebrity hair shortlist by Pink and Mary Kate Olsen while Kid Rock was voted the worst male mane.

While us normal folk are suffering from a severe case of January blues, it's party time for Hollywood A-listers and their entourages with the awards season in full swing.
First there was the People's Choice Awards; then the Critics Choice Awards last week, then, on Sunday night the stars were, once again, pulling out all the stops, this time for the Golden Globes.
But while some stars know just how to nail perfect awards season glamour; other stars somehow manage to miss the mark - especially when it comes to red carpet hair.
We asked Robert Ari, a Fellow with Honours and former F.A.M.E team manager, to cast his eye over some of the celebrity hair on display. Here's his verdict...

It's a blast from the past as we saw celebrities who we haven't seen for some time now, brave the critique eye of the press and of course us here at HJ.
Some showed that absence really does make the heart grow fonder by returing with uber perfect locks while others should clearly have spent their time out of the limelight finding a good hairdresser.

Nanomax is a prescriptive range of treatments for individual hair types that uses nanotechnology to restore and repair hair.
Treatments are electronically misted onto the hair, then brushed in using a special ceramic brush. Unlike some salon treatments, Nanomax stays in the hair permanently.
There are two treatments to choose from: 3D Shine which offers softness, movement and gloss or Nanomax Colourlock which increases colour vibrancy and shine and helps prevent colour fade.
The price starts at £200 for a starter pack, but we're giving one lucky reader the chance to win a complete Nanomax Microsystem kit with 25 Colourlock treatments and 25 3D Shine treatments worth a total of £895.

HJ's news editor Matthew Batham gives a day-by-day account of his recent trip to the States with Redken for its international Symposium in Las Vegas and its UK Business Forum in the stunning Scottsdale, Arizona
SUNDAY
You can see Vegas from the airport runway - how often can you say that? Normally there's a drive of at least half an hour through non-descript suburbia before you reach any major city. But Vegas is right there, rising from the desert like a Toy Town version of an American metropolis.
There's a palpable buzz amongst the hairdressers arriving in the famous city for the Redken Symposium - an event that sees hairdressers from across the world descend on the entertainment capital for three days of seminars designed to motivate even the most cynical.
But before the education kicks in, there's the Grand Opening. Thousands pack into the massive auditorium at the Mandalay Bay hotel, and the buzz that started on the plane has now grown to a controlled roar. The night brings an all-singing-and-dancing spectacular - and the feel is definitely American. The key messages - "be the best you can be" and "find your professional edge." The audience is lapping it up with much whooping.

January has just flown by and after a really relaxing break at Christmas I've been really straight back into it this month.
At the start of the year, I worked on loads of shoots, including a six-page beauty story that is about to come out in Marie Claire, and I have also been doing a lot of work with Melinda Messenger.
Melinda is a client of mine and, as she is on Dancing on Ice at the moment, she has been doing lots of press interviews and obviously needs to look at her fantastic best.
