Gwyneth's Head-Turning Hair Makeover

When Gwyneth Paltrow wowed the paparazzi with her sexy new style at the premieres of her latest flick Iron Man, it was her sky-high stilettos that stole the headlines.

What went largely unnoticed was the new softer hair style she unveiled, which added the season's must-have waves and movement to her previously sleek locks.

But while the press may have overlooked the mane makeover, the look gets a big thumbs up from the hairdressers we quizzed about the celebrity's hair.

"Keeping her long bob simple with subtle layers gives Gwyneth maximum versatility," says Nadine Woolard of Aveda, Marylebone High Street. "Her soft, tousled curls are a real source of inspiration to my clients at present - it's a fantastic look for the summer.

"I've been encouraging clients to work with their natural curls or waves for daytime, and for the evening, gently tonging the hair achieves a sexy look, as Gwyneth proves here."

John Paul Sherley-Price of Toni & Guy, Regent Street is equally gushing about the colour, which he says will be an inspiration to clients coming into the salon.

"Gwyneth's colour is lighter through the front of the hair with warmer tones of gold and soft copper woven through the rest. Her darker roots also give the colour a slightly harder edge," he adds.

"With such a commercial finish it's a look that is bound to appeal to a wide audience. This colour, combined with her new shorter cut, gives Gwyneth a softer, more playful and fresh feeling, in comparison to one solid colour."
