Cheryl v dannii hair-off: versatility the key for dannii

We're three weeks in to the X Factor now and Dannii and Cheryl are demonstrating that their style credentials have no sign of slipping.

In a brave departure from the updos that Cheryl has been sporting so far this series (!), she's really pushed the boat out and worn her extensions long and loose.

I'm kind or enjoying the red wine hue now and she's even managed to carry it off with a dusky pink top, which just shows she really does have some sort of a midas touch.

It's hard to believe that Dannii's hair could be as versatile as last year, but once again she's showcasing a new look for each show and setting the benchmark for creative styling.

Look number five is loosely pinned back with lots of height through the crowd and shorter pieces framing her face.

It's a real no effort hairstyle with a subtle 80s vibe and, most importantly, it really suits both her face and her personality. 

The Verdict: Both ladies have carried off the kind of effortless style that can only be achieved with hours of coiffing tonight! For me, Dannii out shines her rival, if only because she continues to do something differently.
