Lauren Conrad isn't a stranger to colourful hair, having dip-dyed her blonde hair with a blend of rainbow shades last summer.

This spring, Lauren has opted for a brighter Barbie pink shade, colouring the very lengths of her hair with a fusion of neon and pastel shades of pink.

On her blog, Lauren's hairdresser Kristin Ess revealed: "We wanted a subtle graduation with the fuchsia so there was no hard line where the blonde ends and the pink begins.

"Using a semi-permanent pink colour and warm water, we created three different strengths of pink in three different bowls - we used Special FX Color in Atomic Pink. Put two quarter-sized dabs of colour in each bowl and add half a cup of warm water to one bowl, one cup of warm water to the second bowl and one and a half cups of warm water to the third bowl.

"We dipped 6" of Lauren's hair into the lightest pink and squeezed it over the sink. Next we went 2" lower and dipped the bottom 4" in the medium pink, then squeezed out over the sink. Finally, we went two more inches below that, dipping the last 2" into the darkest pink colour and squeezed out over the sink.

"After we had finished colouring the hair, we shampooed and conditioned the whole head."

To show off her new shade, Lauren styled her long locks in a high ponytail with the lengths tonged into soft curls and a section of her hair wrapped around the band.
