Habb cycle challenge hits atlas mountains HABB Cycle Challenge Hits Atlas Mountains The HABB Cycle Challenge saw 17 bikers head to Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains to raise vital funds for the hairdressing industry's charity of choice. Hairdressers from across the country headed to Marrakech, where they were kitted out with bikes before familiarising themselves with their new two-wheeled friends with a city-centre ride through the royal palace and spice souks. Day two saw the team ascend to the Atlas Mountains for three days of spectacular but strenuous cycling. As the group passed through remote Berber villages they stopped to hand out classroom donations to local children, reiterating the charity message of the week's challenge. The team divided on day three, with some brave off-roaders heading off up the mountain terrain and roadies enjoying a no-less strenuous 13km ascent. Both groups met at lake Lalla Takeroust after five hours cycling in over 100 degrees heat, before retiring to the hotel for the night. There was more mountain climbing on day four, with the cyclists passing through remote villages high in the mountains and through the Ouirgane Valley. The team are on track to raise £7,000 for HABB.
