Name: Warren Holmes

Age: 26

Salon: Nicky Clarke

1. What is your biggest achievement?
I honestly don't think I've achieved a percentage of what I want to yet. Ask me when the new Nicky Clarke product range comes out and you might get a different answer.

2. If you weren't a hairdresser what would you be?
The city has always intrigued me so business or politics in some shape or form.

3. How would your clients describe you?
That's not for me to say...

4. Which one style do you wish you had created?
I don't allow myself to have a favourite hair style because I'm always aiming to create the next one.

5. Who is your style icon?
Tom Ford is a cool guy, John Lennon was the man and Liam Gallagher drops some good threads. Nicky's cool too.

6. Who is your hairdressing idol?
I respect and admire the guys from years ago that did amazing things with hair when the technology and knowledge we have weren't around. Nowadays I like to check out the work of Julian d'Ys and Guido. I also love looking at Luigi Murenu and Serge Normant. Finally Nicky Clarke for what he has done for hairdressing. I'm pretty certain this industry wouldn't be as strong had he not given it the exposure.

7. Which hairdresser would you most like to work with (past or present)?
Working with Nicky on a daily basis is insightful. If I could transport myself back a few years to the Studio 54 movement, I'd love to have been in the room with the girls going to that place because everything was off the scale in a good way. Classic French hairdressing - that beautifully sculpted hair. Those guys that were genuine artists.

8. Who cuts your hair?
I actually do it myself. Simon Smith gave me my last haircut but I never have time so I just stand in front of the mirror and follow my guide!

9. Favourite part of the job?
I'm in the hugely fortunate position my weeks are so varied. I shoot, I film, educate and work in the salon.

10. Who is your most famous client past or present?
Naomi Campbell maybe? Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Queen Noor, Sarah Ferguson - I'd say are all pretty big.

11. Last time you were lost for words?
Now! Trying to think of the last time. Honest answer.

12. Which one product couldn't you live without?
Nicky Clarke Hair Raising Lift Thicken and Shine Spray - it's bang on for getting guts and love into the hair. It builds a great foundation for manipulating and sculpting hair.

13. Os there anything about the industry that makes you mad?
All the talk people give it.

14. What's the biggest gaffe you've made in your career?
I'm prone to throwing my toys out of the pram when I don't always get my own way and this has got me into trouble on the odd time.

15. What's the best career advice you've ever been given?
Everything happens for a reason and also to make the ultimate opportunity out of a small possibility.

16. Last time you were star-struck?
I've genuinely never been starstruck.

17. Time you were most proud to be in hairdressing?
I'm just proud to be a hairdresser, although recently I did the hair for Shozna, the young homeless girl who was invited to the Royal Wedding. It was a tragic story but a great cause and hairdressing led me to it.

18. What celebrity haircut do you wish had never caught on?
That mullet craze.

19. What haircut would you love to make a come-back and how would you re-invent it for the noughties?
Everything gets re-invented - it changes by looking at it with a different point of view and styling it with more finesse.

20. Sleek and shiny or messy bed hair?
Depends on the moment!
