While Fashion Week is in full flow in New York, last night saw the MTV Video Music Awards take place over on the west coast of the USA in Hollywood. Representing the Brits, Florence and the Machine picked up the Best Art Direction award for early single, Dog Days Are Over. While Florence stuck with her trademark flame red locks - with just a hint of red scalp, oops - it looks like she's bulked up her fringe for a cool, chunky, blunt shape. Very on trend for A/W - top marks, Flo. Meanwhile, Katy Perry is still wearing those ridiculous blue and pink extensions - the colour is great, but they just look too fake, and not in the good, obviously fake, Gaga way.
Trying something new for the night, both Twilight actress Ashley Greene and rocker Ke$ha revealed revamped looks. Ashley looked cool and sophisticated with a mid-length layered cut - Cheryl Cole has a lot to answer for! Meanwhile, Tik Tok singer Ke$ha ditched the trashy party girl look for something a little more sophisticated, but still with a cool edge. A sky-high quiff teamed with a funky fishtail plait, combined with tribal makeup, ensure Ke$ha still looks edgy.
Finally, Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams (ask an emo), showed off her trademark orange hair with a cool, twisted style. While from the front, the style looks a little like it's been hacked with blunt scissors, the back offered a cool alternative option to an evening undo. This twisted style works really well with her coloured hair, showing off each section individually.
