What’s New In L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Education
Keeping your knowledge and skills up to date is key as a hairdresser or barber, so here’s what’s new in L’Oréal Professionnel Paris education. It’s easy to become complacent with your skill, but trends and techniques are constantly evolving and knowing what’s new in the world of hairdressing is one sure-fire way to develop and maintain business.
Here are two new courses from L’Oreal Professionnel Paris…
Introduction to the Science of Hair and Skin
To understand the function of the skin and hair (excluding hair growth cycle)
- Layers of the skin and their purpose
- Structure of hair
- Melanin and the influence on hair colour
- Bonds within the hair
Everything within hairdressing is affected by the scientific structure of hair. A strong understanding of this benefits you every day on the floor.
“The L’Oréal Professionnel Paris team are dedicated to helping develop and support the future generation. Making this course widely available and complimentary means we can benefit the entire industry” says Donna Paterson, education director for L’Oréal Professionnel Paris
This free online course takes you through the building blocks of both hair and skin. Looking at the layers of the skin and the structure of the hair in bite size modules. Each section has supporting video, audio, text and knowledge tests that take the learner through the fundamentals in different learning styles. The aim: bring to life the fundamentals of hair science for both students and teachers.
“A great mix of visuals, slides, dropdowns, and mini videos make this an interactive and interesting teaching tool,” explains Dawn Francis, education lecturer at Deeside College.
The learner journeys through the skins three compartments: epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. Plus takes you inside the hair and teach you about the cuticle, cortex and medulla. Understanding the science of what is inside the hair and how to both manipulate and respect it affects every service we do. How do bonds get reformed during a drying or perm process? What are the pigments naturally found in hair and their level scale? Answers to these questions are what you will find out in the course. If you are a self-confessed hair geek, a salon manager with staff or a trainee learning your craft, this short online course is worth checking out. You won’t look at textbooks the same again!
