The tigi inspirational youth team 2018 have been announced Now in its 14th year, TIGI Inspirational Youth is a mentorship programme taking young hairdressers on a life-changing voyage to develop creativity and talent. The TIGI Inspirational Youth Team 2018 have now been announced. This week 17 young finalists attended the TIGI Academy in London for a nerve-wracking selection process to choose the TIGI Inspirational Youth team 2018. Each of the finalists was required to cut and colour a head-block under the watchful eyes of the TIGI Creative Team members, before presenting their inspiration and finished work to a panel of judges including Anthony Mascolo and HJ's own content editor Charlotte Grant-West. The 10 successful hairdressers from salons across the UK now go on to the Inspirational Youth Bootcamp, taking place at Bed Head Studio in London at the beginning of September. During the Bootcamp week the Team will be mentored by the senior TIGI international creative team, led by TIGI European creative director, Akos Bodi, TIGI European session director, Maria Kovacs and TIGI Global Academy technical director, Warren Boodaghians. The Bootcamp includes intense training in classic and advanced cut and colouring, session styling, future fashion forecasting, presentation skills and, the highlight of the week, a model casting and photo shoot. Shot at Bed Head Studio by TIGI in-house photographer, Alex Barron-Hough, with fashion stylist JIV D, the photographic collection will be sent to UK trade magazines and shared on social media. Following the TIGI Inspirational Youth Bootcamp, the Team will go on to participate in an exclusive show on 12th November at London’s Café de Paris. The 10 team members chosen for this year’s TIGI Inspirational Youth Team are: Amy Lynn- Bad Apple Rebecca McKay- Andrew Collinge Rebecca Stradling- Molbys Marc Hensman- Mesart Dana Hoek- Regis Claire Thorpe- Scots Megan Nicholls- Inkfish Jasmin Dewar- Muse Adam West- Forresters Lesley Farrell- F&M Anthony Mascolo, who founded TIGI Inspirational Youth programme, knows the support he received from his brothers played a crucial part in his future success. In turn, he wanted to give opportunity to talented young hairdressers and help them on their personal career journey. Many former TIGI Inspirational Youth team members have gone on to be very successful in the global hairdressing industry, recognised and respected by their peers as session stylists, educators and salon owners.
