Blue Tit, the stylish sustainable salon group, has continued adding to its ever-evolving property portfolio with the addition of its sixth stylish salon. Housed in the heart of London hotspot, Brixton, among a whole host of quirky areas such as Brixton Village, the salon, which launched in March 2016, brings the perfect partnership to the local eclectic vibe.

The style at Blue Tit Brixton is industrial rather than revolution-style industrial, inspired by Berlin nightclubs’ almost naked interiors. Thin strip lighting and bare light bulbs hang from the ceiling, among exposed copper piping, adding to the rawness of the layout. A standout design feature is the giant skylight in the shampoo area and middle of the salon; during the day it’s relaxing for clients to look up at the blue sky as they have their hair washed, while at night, the lights inside and outside bounce off the pyramid shaped construction of the skylight, producing a unique effect.

Boasting a very cohesive feel to the interior, the salon boasts ten workstations, each custom-made with a unique, heavy metal construction. Each one is attached to the wall, with a drawer for stylists’ tools and an adjustable mirror, which make the workspaces contemporary, but still workable.

The bespoke work-surface in the reception allows for a touch-screen computer booking system, with the reception and bar area now the real heart of the salon.

Anastasya Martynova (www.anastasya-martynova.com) provided the finishing touches to the salon, with her stunning artwork, most notably the commission of the Blue Tit, created using coloured hair encased between two sheets of acrylic. Anastasya also created a mural sketch, besides the four shampoo points, featuring a drawing of the ‘Golden Ratio’ in its purest form, something that has always been an obsession of Director Perry.

Says Directors Perry, Andi and Matt: “We wanted to create a salon that was in-keeping with the area and the eclectic vibe and unique energy Brixton has to offer. We have been extremely lucky with the location of our sixth salon and feel it is a superb match for the Blue Tit brand. We look forward to welcoming a huge variety of clients to the Brixton salon and feel part of something very exciting.”
