Awarding and assessment body VTCT is set to release six new regulated Infection Prevention Qualifications next week (10 June), which will become a prerequisite on all VTCT and ITEC qualifications from 1 August onwards.
In a statement, VTCT said these new qualifications have been introduced to “help embed best practice and assist with building the confidence of both our centres, learners and their clients on how to ‘return back’ safely.”
The new courses will detail the causes, transmission and effects of coronavirus, as well as the importance of social responsibility and methods to control the transmission through hand hygiene and PPE, helping to protect both themselves, staff members and clients upon reopening.
When creating these qualifications, VTCT used reference materials provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO), national authorities in the UK and around the world, and the company’s own experiences in countries where businesses have started the reopening process such as Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
