Rebecca minkoff named essie global colour designer Rebecca Minkoff Named Essie Global Colour Designer Fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff has been announced as the new global colour designer for nail brand, Essie. Rebecca, whose eponymous label is presented in New York, began her relationship with Essie when the brand worked on nails for her show. Essie describe it as, 'a natural next step' to look to Rebecca's fashion expertise and eye for colour as a creative opportunity beyond the catwalk. In her new role, Rebecca will provide input on the brand's colour direction for future Essie collections. This includes the Flowerista collection, which launches in March. Rebecca says: "I have had a lifelong passion for vibrant nail colour and nail art – they are the perfect accessory and offer every woman another unique way to express herself. I am thrilled to take my relationship with essie one step further and look forward to a successful and colourful journey!" Carolyn Holba, worldwide general manager of essie, adds: "Women around the world have fallen in love with essie's iconic nail colors and Rebecca’s stylish accessories. It is an incredible honour to bring together two fashion authorities to create the next generation of must-have nail collections for women around the world. Rebecca exudes passion and she lives and breathes colour – so does essie. We have so much in common and are excited to welcome her to the essie family." Essie Weingarten, who founded the brand more than 33 years ago, remains a consultant.
