Rainbow room international turn heads on do or dye

Rainbow Room International will be taking part in new BBC Scotland documentary series, Do or Dye: Hair Academy; a year-in-the-life of a group of students at Scotland's biggest hairdressing training academy. Narrated by Edith Bowman and made by Demus-HG Productions for BBC One Scotland, the four-part series follows the students through the ups and downs of salon life as they take their first steps towards becoming stylists, working in the glamorous but competitive hairdressing industry. Producer Nick Low, Demus-HG Productions, says: "We knew we’d be filming some colourful characters for Do Or Dye: Hair Academy, but we were impressed just how hard working and committed some of these students were. We feel privileged to have followed some future stars of the hairdressing world at the beginning of their careers." Linda Stewart, co-owner of Rainbow Room International welcomed the cameras into their academy and says: "At first everyone was a bit nervous at the prospect of having cameras and a film crew around, but this soon changed and everyone got used to them being there. The show was a great opportunity for us to show the public what can be achieved with a career in hairdressing and the hard work, dedication and commitment that it takes to be successful in the hairdressing industry. The assistants are a huge credit to Rainbow Room International and I'm very proud of them, they're hugely talented and have a bright future ahead of them." Rainbow Room International has salons across Glasgow, Stirling and Ayr. In 2003, owners Alan and Linda Stewart set up a hairdressing academy in Glasgow, training over 80 students a year.
