Mark leeson takes home global prize at the aipp awards

Mark Leeson has been named the global winner of the AIPP Grand Trophy 2017-2018 with a set of stunning looks. The AIPP AWARDS, which began in 1997, award annual prizes to the best international hair fashion collections chosen by a jury of publishers associated with the AIPP (International Professional Hairdressing Magazines Association). In October 2017, Mark was awarded with the Best Photography Award at the event, which attracted 732 entries from over 42 different countries. The winning collection titled 'Portrait' was described as ‘awe-inspiring’ by judges and he was invited to submit his latest collection, ‘Dis-Tinction’ to the final stage of the event, which sees winners from each category compete to be crowned the winner of the top prize. Mark was this week named overall winner of the AIPP Grand Trophy 2017-2018 for this collection, a huge accolade which sees Mark join previous winners including hairdressing legends Vidal Sassoon, Trevor Sorbie and Robert Lobetta. The awards presentation will take place next Monday 19 March at Bologna’s Cosmoprof Worldwide, the leading professional beauty exhibition. On his win, Mark said: "Winning the AIPP Grand Trophy is a dream come true. To compete against some of the biggest hairdressing talents in the world is an honour, and to come out on top is just mind-blowing. I’m so thankful for the amazing feedback we’ve had from judges and truly humbled to be the recipient of such a prestigious title - it’s still doesn’t seem real!"
