TV and radio star Johnny Vaughan has boldly gone bald in the name of charity and he's urged volunteers at London's Canary Wharf to follow his lead.

The Capital 95.8 Breakfast Show host had his head shaved by hairdressing icon Trevor Sorbie MBE in order to raise money for Capital's charity 'Help a London Child' and raise awareness of Trevor's non profit organisation 'My New Hair'.

The radio station aimed to raise more than ten thousand pounds for their charity and had men, women and children queuing up to get involved.

Trevor, who dedicates much of his time to his organisation My New Hair, a wig customisation service for clients suffering medical hair loss, was delighted to be involved in the event.

He said: "I was really happy to lend my support to today's event, Help a London Child is a truly fantastic charity and this was a great way to raise some important funds.

"I spend a lot of time these days with people who have lost their hair through illness and so it was also a great opportunity to raise awareness for "My New Hair".

"I think it is such an important service and provides real psychological medicine for women suffering from medical hair loss.  My personal goal is to make this service known to and accessible to women around the UK and long term the world."
