The 2017 Hair on Stage show by Davines took over the Hackney Empire in London with stunning shows by Allilon, Blue Tit, Taylor Taylor and HJ's current British Hairdresser of the Year, Angelo Seminara.
Johnny Othona and the Allilon Education Team presented its Wiggle collection; haircuts that showcased geometric lines, asymmetric shapes and muted tones. In contrast, the Blue Tit Artistic Team filled the stage with colour with its Delysid collection - bright kaleidoscopic colours and shapes that took the audience on a journey through the hair. "Remember, there are no limits to a hairstyle," stated Perry Patraszewski, who then revealed prisms of colour by shaving off long, curly hair.
London-based Taylor Taylor made its Hair on Stage debut with a tour of London, with a presentation on East, Central and West London - the location of all their salons. East saw plenty of colour, accessories and textures, while Central was more fashion-led and West was Chelsea blow-dries.
Then it was the show everyone was waiting for - Creative Director Angelo Seminara presented his brand new Star icon collection, looking to the Hollywood stars of the 20s, 50s and 60s for inspiration. Louise Brooks, Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot were all given an Angelo twist.
The UK finalists for the World Style Contest took to the stage to present their models, which were judged by the audience and judges including HJ's editor Ruth Hunsley.
