Twice British Hairdresser of the Year, Beverly C, officially opened the Central College Nottingham Salon on Monday 10 November. Beverly, an ambassador for Goldwell (colour partner at Salon Central) spent the day at the salon, talking to students and running a masterclass for an audience of students and Nottingham salon owner. Based in Wheeler Gate in Nottingham city centre, the salon is a state-of-the-art commercial training venue providing hair and beauty services over two floors. Head of Central’s School of Lifestyle, Alison Asbury, said: "We're incredibly proud of Salon Central. It is an exceptional facility and gives Central College's students the best possible mix of knowledge, training and commercial experience. It's fitting to have Beverly C, a leader in the hairdressing industry, here with us for the official opening. I'm sure she will inspire our students to push themselves as they will get a sense of what can be achieved in this exciting industry." Beverly added: "The facilities here are absolutely brilliant and the students are very lucky to be based in a location like this. So often training salons are tucked away on top floors of college buildings and can just feel like offices; this feels like an amazingly creative environment and I'm sure will have an enormous impact on the students' development." Central's Hair and Beauty courses range from Level 1 through to Level 3 and include hairdressing, beauty, nails, barbering and media make-up.
