Avlon announces new european education director

Leading Afro haircare brand, Avlon welcomes Jacqui McIntosh as its new European education director. Joining Avlon over 22 years ago as a freelance educator, she has witnessed the ascension of the brand in real-time, and in fact, has greatly contributed to Avlon’s reputation for delivering exemplary education. Jacqui was Avlon’s director of education for the professional area of the business for several years before stepping into her new role as European education director across all brands, both professional and commercial.

A force to be reckoned with

Jacqui brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role, which she generously shares with emerging stylists under her tutelage. She landed her first break at the tender age of 20 when she was promoted to a managerial position at a salon, that was part of Europe’s biggest salon chain. Jacqui’s flair was quickly recognised, and it wasn’t before long she was promoted yet again, this time managing additional salons and in-store concessions within various department stores. Despite the high level of responsibility required for this role, Jacqui embraced the challenge, which she now says was pivotal to her understanding of the business aspect of hairdressing. Following her work in salon management, Jacqui became an in-demand technical expert and platform artist for a variety of brands across the UK and internationally. Jacqui said: “During my time with Avlon, I’ve worked with some of the best scientists, such as the brand’s founder, Dr Ali.Syed. I love Avlon’s commitment to product innovation and its understanding of the science of hair – it’s why I find working with the brand so rewarding.”

Ready and raring to go
