Andrew barton receives honorary degree of doctor of arts Celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton has received a honorary degree of Doctor of Arts from Southampton Solent University for his services to hairdressing. Andrew, well known for his Tv and magazine work, has more than three decades of hairdressing experience and is working on his new exhibition Beehives, Bobs and Blowdries, a collaboration with Solent's course leader for fashion journalism, Donna Bevan, which launches early next year. "It's an honour to receive this Doctor of Arts - not only for me but also for our great hairdressing industry. As hairdressers we have the power to not only transform how someone looks but how he/she feels about themselves. It's wonderful that this amazing industry has received the recognition it deserves as an art."
