Vidal sassoon book and exhibition to launch in october

A new book celebrating the life and career of Vidal Sassoon will be published this October by Rizzoli.Vidal Sassoon: How One Man Changed the World with a Pair of Scissors is a companion to the recent film of the same name, and documents the late, great hairdressers stratospheric rise to fame from salon assistant in the East End of London to the most iconic name in the industry.
With a foreword from Bumble and bumble founder Michael Gordon and Vogue creative director, Grace Coddington, the book promises to be a fascinating look at one mane's efforts to transform the way the world looked at hairdressing.
Accompanying the book, a free exhibition of photographs, artwork and film charting Vidal's work will be hosted at Somerset House in London.
The exhibition will take place from 2 - 28 October in the Courtyard Rooms at Somerset House, London and is open from 10:00-18:00 daily.
On 13 October, a screening of Vidal Sassoon: The Movie will take place at the exhibition space, followed by a Q&A with producer Michael Gordon.
