Welcome to HJ’s Mental Health Awareness Week: The Official Schedule

HJ’s Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 is taking place between Monday 10 May to Sunday 16 May to help encourage the open discussion and acknowledgement of mental health.

Throughout the week, we’ll be offering content which will help those in the industry who may be struggling with mental health issues. This will range from in-depth live chats with experts on Facebook and extensive guides to helping yourself, team and clients through periods of personal challenge.

Hairdressers Journal International’s editor Laura Husband says: “HJ’s Mental Health Awareness Week, which coincides with the UK’s National Mental Health Awareness Week, acts as a positive reminder that despite all of the extra long hours wearing full PPE to make your clients happy again – your mental health is and always should be a priority.”

She continues: “We have a week filled with live sessions and content featuring expert hints and tips to give you the tools you need to cope with the extra stresses and pressures you’re facing in and out of the salon environment right now. We’d also love to hear from you about how you’re helping others with mental health and embracing your own mental health. If this year has taught us anything it’s that we all need to listen to how we’re feeling and give ourselves a mental and physical break as when we need it and the HJ team is always here for you!”
