College students show their barbering skills Karen Scarr Level 3HJ Men loves to see work by up-and-coming barbers, and thanks to the staff and students at East Durham College we’ve been given this insight into the work of some of its NVQ Level 3 students studying on the hairdressing and barbering course. These images are by some of the talented students from the course and suggest the future of barbering is secure. Said Alison Scattergood, hairdressing and barbering Lecturer and course coordinator at the college: “I feel studying and completing NVQ's in men's hair is vitally important for students to progress into the industry. Learning is something we never stop doing and in barbering skills/styles are evolving all the time and the theory side of the trade also plays a massive part, underpinning knowledge of hair itself. I am a consultant with City & Guilds in the writing of hair/barbering qualifications and the standards set are of great importance to our future generation.” [hji-gallery-legacy]
