Vtct to help design new t level qualification

It has been announced that VTCT will be designing and developing the T Level Techincal Qualification in Hair, Beauty and Aesthetics, alongside NCFE, as their specialist partner. As the market-leading Awarding Organisation for the Hair sector, VTCT will be contributing the knowledge and experience of its own technical experts and key stakeholders to develop the government’s new gold standard technical qualification with NCFE. The T level contract was awarded to NCFE by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (the Institute), as part of the fourth wave of implementation for the new programme of T Levels. Commenting on the win, VTCT Chief Executive, Alan Woods OBE, said, “VTCT is pleased to support NCFE on this T Level contract as the specialist sub-contractor and partner. Our partnership with NCFE combines their tried and tested experience in delivering T Levels with our unrivalled Hair, Beauty and Aesthetics sector knowledge and expertise. For almost 60 years, VTCT has put the learner at the heart of our organisational mission as we deliver qualifications that help individuals secure a job and reach their career goals. With our employer partners, who also helped develop this winning bid, we are really looking forward to working with learning and training providers to ensure the success of this T Level.” VTCT will combine their expertise and standing in the hair sector with the NCFE’s knowledge of the T Level development to create a high-quality qualification which will lead to fantastic career opportunities for aspiring hairdressers. T Levels signify a significant change in technical education as they have become one of three main choices for post-16 students, alongside A levels and apprenticeships. They have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses to ensure the content both meets industry needs as well as prepares a learner to enter the workforce. While already offering vocational and technical qualifications around the country and throughout the world, VTCT are delighted to get started on this new qualification for the industry.
