These are hairdressers’ favourite netflix hair moments As salons up and down the country have been forced to close their doors, many hairdressers and their clients will have turned to Netflix for a piece of escapism, not to mention the many hair looks that punctuated some of Netflix’s hits of 2020. Here, hairdressers share their favourite TV and Netflix hair moments from 2020.

Hairdresser’s Favourite TV and Netflix Hair Moments 2020

The Crown

https://www.instagram.com/p/CHavzbbjjQD/ “Every series of The Crown has delivered beautiful clothes and period styling – but we all remember the eighties and the love for pattern, big shoulder pads and bigger hair," says Marcello Moccia, Room 97 Creative, Leeds –  BHA North Western Hairdresser of the Year. "Emma Corrin’s Princess Diana reminded us of a fashion era gone by – but is still influencing style today. An escape to another world just when we needed it!”

The Queen’s Gambit

https://www.instagram.com/p/CJrZLgNj_f4/ “For me, the unmissable show of 2020 was The Queen’s Gambit – beautiful in story, style and cinematography! Actress Anya Taylor-Joy had an amazing wardrobe and her hair was quirky but so stylish," says Martin Crean, MODE Hair, Chipping Campden – BHA Artistic Team of the Year. "It was the perfect fashion throwback that we could all indulge in during lockdown. Her copper bob, eye liner and sixties flair for fashion took the story to another level and were as intense as the tournament she was taking part in. Who knew chess would be so compelling!”

Emily in Paris

https://www.instagram.com/p/CG5nN0inI4P/ “Emily in Paris was the perfect escapism. A young girl moves to Paris for her dream job –  and the fashion and style didn’t disappoint," says Corey Taylor, NOCO Hair, Bristol. "It was a joy to the senses – the beautiful clothes and the stunning architecture dominated every episode. Emily’s hair was always perfectly dressed, whether it was worn down or casually pulled into an updo. It was the Sex & The City for a new generation and the perfect show to watch while you were on the sofa in your PJs!”

The Undoing

https://www.instagram.com/p/CI8slx0hjil/   “The Undoing was the perfect psychological thriller this year – and how stunning did Nicole Kidman look!" says David Corbett, David Corbett Hairdressing, Bothwell, Glasgow. "Her strawberry blonde curls hung beautifully past her shoulders and were complemented by beautiful velvet coats and a stunning architectural backdrop of Manhattan. Her style was elegant, luxurious and aspirational and was a joy to watch.”

Normal People

https://www.instagram.com/p/CB3l95Mn0_l/ “Paul Mescal in Normal People epitomised men’s hair in 2020 – longer layers, natural texture and easy, wearable hair," says Joe Mills, Joe and Co, London. "His character really captured the mood of the moment and while it was ultimately a love story, it was stylish and relevant for today’s world we live in.” Have you seen Bridgerton yet?
