Card payment provider, Paymentsense, have revealed data between October 2020-2021 from their card machines across the UK. This data reveals the location in which salons have the highest average spend per visit along with the total value of sales. The data reveals that residents of Chelmsford spend the most on hair, with an average spend of almost £58 per customer. Living up to the stereotypical lavish Essex lifestyle, Chelmsford locals can expect to spend a minimum of £375 a year. Edinburgh came out second on the list, with the cities hairdresser's making around £56 per client. The Scottish capital has the highest value of sales per location, making up 7.38% of the total sales over the year time frame. On the opposite end - it was Brighton that spent the least per visit at an average of £28 - half the price of Chelmsford. With their costs being the lowest, Brighton also has the highest number of transactions on average a year.
