The award winning hair from the 2021 nta's As the UK's finest television stars filled the red carpet on Wednesday 8 Septembe for the National Television Awards, it was certainly a black tie event. Here are some of our favourite looks from the event.

Long waves

Long, brushed out curls seemed to be a staple at the event - with celebrities such as Amy Childs and Pixie Lott sporting them. "The trend last night seemed to be hair worn long and wavy, with one side tucked behind one ear. This is a perfect red carpet look as it shoes off any expensive jewellery and highlights the cheekbones - Amy Childs did this perfectly. And with her deep chocolate hair colour, it was pure glamour," says Robert Kirby, Robert Kirby Hairdressing.

The Up-Do

Famous faces such as Mollie King, Rochelle Humes, and Ruth Langsford all opted for their locks swept out of their face - giving a classy yet understated finish. While Ruth Langsford went for a voluminous bouffant style look, her face framing fringe left a softness to the glam look. This look is greater for clients who want their hair up but still want to keep some volume. Rochelle Humes was spotted with a sleek top knot, with a waved side fringe sweeping at the front of her face.
“There weren’t many updos at the NTAs, so it was nice to see Rochelle breaking the mould and wearing her hair in a high knot. She wore her fringe loose and sexy which gave her grecian style effortless chic. Wearing hair up is the perfect partner for off-the-shoulder styles, which is one of the trends we are seeing for special occasion wear. By keeping her knot less than perfect adds to the relaxed glamour look - too smooth and it could look too severe," explained David Corbett, David Corbett Hairdressing.

The Bob

If there's anyone who knows how to rock a bob, it's daytime TV's Holly Willoughby. Her bright blonde locks were worn in a blunt waved bob, as a deep side part completed the classic look.

Martin Crean of Mode Hair described the look as "pure red carpet": “Holly can never put a fashion foot wrong! She has waved her blunt bob and looks like a 20s goddess with her off-the-shoulder sequinned dress, which perfectly enhances her décolletage. The overall look is expensive looking, decadent and pure red carpet.” Recreate these looks on your clients and have them leaving the salon award show ready - no matter the occasion.
