Sassoon scholarship winner spends her first day at sassoon academy Kim Nicole Jones, who is the current winner of the Sassoon Scholarship, has spent her first day on a Sassoon Academy course. The scholarship is run in association with Sassoon Academy and the Fellowship for British Hairdressing and is sponsored by Denman, taking place each year for one lucky member of the fellowship. It offers young hairdressers with little or no education budget the chance to receive world-class training with the Sassoon Academy. Kim, who won the scholarship in 2020, has only now been able to attend her first day at the Academy, due to Covid-19 restrictions being introduced. Kim got to work with world-renowned hairdressers at Sassoon and attended an intensive cutting course, getting the opportunity to learn and try out the latest on-trend looks, such as The Wolf Cut and The Shake Cut. “Following on from the experience I have a new lease of life, with a boosted drive and passion to get creative, I felt I truly developed from this experience and I was raring to be back in the salon, pampering all my fabulous clients and developing with my newly enhanced skillset and knowledge,” said Kim, who is from Anglesey, Wales. After winning the Sassoon Scholarship, Kim was able to choose two in-person Sassoon Academy courses, as well as two online Sassoon Academy courses. She also received a professional tool kit, alongside PR profiling through the Fellowship – providing some positivity in a difficult time for the hair industry. “The support and kindness I have been given to my professional development have been outstanding and I’m still pinching myself that this has happened to me! I am truly thankful to Sassoon, Denman and the Fellowship for making my dreams a reality and urge anyone and everyone who’s thinking about entering this scholarship to take the plunge and do it,” Kim added.
