Have you seen the sassoon now collection?
The Sassoon Academy creative team have launched its new SASSOON NOW collection.
The launch of the collection on the 27th June saw the Sassoon host a live event on their Facebook channel, featuring technical demonstrations and model presentations from the Sassoon Internal Creative team. The live event provided viewers with an explanation of the techniques and the inspiration behind the looks. You can catch up on the live event here.
The collection celebrates the Sassoon brand today, drawing inspiration from the creative hands and minds of the international creative team and their muses. The collection features cuts and colours that reflect a free-spirited optimism that has its roots in bohemian modernism. Sassoon Now
Mark Hayes, international creative director said: “As a way of connecting with and celebrating the global hair and beauty industry, we wanted to make this launch as accessible as possible.”
The cutting techniques contain a modern interpretation of the bob, the ultimate Sassoon signature look, as well as mid-length layered shapes inspired by The Mouche and the Shake, iconic Sassoon looks of the 70s. New ideas revolve around longer hair too, which are combined with shorter interior lengths and gentle face framing layered panels. Sassoon Now
Textures suggest a relaxed, modern appeal and the hair is prepped with the accent on moisture and flexibility and then dried for supple movement and understated shine.
To reinforce the feeling of liberation and originality, the team created bright accents and monochromatic slices to enhance the natural base colours, where classic techniques are reinvented and applied in advanced, innovative ways. New versions of barcoding techniques and back brush highlighting are also used to add dimension and depth as well as masterful reinventions of classic Two tone and back-to-back slice techniques. The new collection continues the legacy, creating new stories for the iconic Sassoon brand.
