Ross charles shaves york businessman and daughters heads for charity Ross Charles from Ross Charles Hairdressing has recently worked with Nick Turnbull, the managing director of a local design firm, Inc Dot and his daughter, Hetty as he shaved their heads for a Candlelighters charity fundraiser. Nick and Hetty visited the Ross Charles Salon to get their heads shaved in the hope of raising £1000 for children’s cancer charity, Candlelighters. For the last year, Nick and Hetty have been growing out their hair, or in Nick’s case, his facial hair for the occasion. As a part of the family’s annual fundraising, Nick volunteers as Santa Claus at the charities Christmas event, but their Candlelight fundraiser was a considerable occasion for Nick and his daughter, as well as Ross to be a part of. Ross said, “Hetty suggested this fundraising idea to her father to help those suffering from cancer, which is genuinely heart-warming and something I was honoured to be a part of. I’m proud to say that myself and the salon have been instrumental in helping them raise almost £1,200 so far for the Candlelighters charity.” Nick says: “For several years, my family and business have supported the wonderful work of Candlelighters, who provide emotional and financial support to children living with cancer. As part of our fundraising each year, I volunteer as Santa at the charity’s Christmas event. Special thanks go to the people and businesses who have supported our fundraising: BoB Clubs, David Charles Photographer, Ross Charles Hairdressing, Forest of Galtres Primary School, The Partners Group and Inc Dot Design and Print.” To support Nick and Hetty’s fundraising, visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nick-turnbull9.
