Rihanna debuts long sideburns and looks sleek as ever

Is Rihanna making long sideburns a thing? In an announcement for the new Fenty Parfum, it was her sideburns that caught our attention. The star unveiled her newest look on Instagram as she served us the ultra-modern style that nobody saw coming. In a summer filled with mullets, curtain bangs and choppy cuts – the sleek sideburns weren’t on our trend radar for 2021, but they certainly are now.

The black and white picture features Rihanna’s smooth long hair, with her chopped, angled sideburns on display. The look is ultramodern and shows that while she’s had a quiet 2021, Rihanna is still very much ahead of the style game. “They definitely add a sleek edge to her look, it’s almost like an overgrown undercut. I think it could influence younger clients to try out the style but since it’s quite bold I don’t think it’ll be a staple trend of 2021,” said hairdresser Tracey Devine Smith of French & Ivi. Rihanna is no stranger to starting new trends, with an army ready to recreate her boldest looks. Will this be another mullet situation and spark a new trend for celebrities and clients alike, or is this a one time thing for pop’s bad gal? “Rihanna’s hairstyles are usually pretty influential in the salon, when she had her red hair back in 2010 it definitely sparked a massive trend for red hair and I saw an influx of clients looking to recreate the look” added Tracey.
