Project: x team spend day with session stylist syd hayes

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing's Project: X team recently spent the day learning new styling techniques and tips to take back to the salon with session stylist Syd Hayes. Syd Hayes, who is an ambassador for BaByliss Pro, joined the team at the new Electric Space in London, guiding the team as they worked on models during the hands-on workshop. “Syd is a true inspiration and shared so much of his session styling world with us, I'm looking forward to putting into practice some of the tips he gave us,” said Project: X member, Emma Simmons. The team learned a variety of tips and insider knowledge from the international stylist. Syd spoke to the team about his career to date, before demonstrating how to create glamour waves using tonging and pinning techniques, showed the team how to apply extensions to give extra volume, talking through his kit bagand showing them some tricks of the trade. Project: X member April Marsh commented: “Our day with Syd Hayes was quite possibly my favourite day so far whilst being on Project X. I was blown away listening to Syd tell us about his experiences and work within the industry let alone what he had to show us. I haven’t been involved in much session work during my career so far, so it was amazing to be able to get hands-on and learn from someone so humble and knowledgeable.” The Fellowship group also received electrical tools gifted from BaByliss pro, who supported the workshop.
